AI Use Policy

How Vesti.la uses AI-assisted tools responsibly

Vesti.la may use artificial intelligence and other digital tools to support parts of the editorial workflow. These tools can assist with organization and production, but they do not replace human editorial judgment, verification or responsibility.

Our core rule

AI-assisted output is never treated as automatically accurate, authoritative or ready for publication without editorial review.

Read Editorial Policy

Technology can support the work, but it cannot own the judgment

International food content often involves regional names, transliterations, historical claims, restaurant information, cultural context and practical ordering guidance. These subjects require careful review because automated systems can produce incomplete, outdated or fabricated information.

Assistance

AI may help organize complex material

Tools may assist with brainstorming, outlining, grouping topics, comparing structures and improving the flow of an article.

Review

Every important claim still requires human judgment

Food names, cultural descriptions, business details, quotations, prices and other factual statements must be reviewed before publication.

Limitations

AI can sound confident while being wrong

Automated systems may invent sources, confuse related dishes, flatten regional differences or present outdated information as current.

How AI-assisted tools may support the editorial workflow

AI tools may be used as production aids when they help the editorial team organize information, improve readability or complete routine tasks more efficiently.

Topic organization

Grouping reader questions, identifying possible sections and organizing a large topic into a more useful structure.

Outlining

Developing a preliminary article framework that is later revised according to editorial priorities and available information.

Language editing

Improving sentence clarity, grammar, transitions and readability without changing the intended factual meaning.

Formatting support

Assisting with headings, tables, comparison structures, metadata organization and other presentation tasks.

Translation review

Comparing wording across languages and identifying phrases that may require human linguistic or cultural review.

Visual planning

Helping develop image concepts, shot lists, comparison ideas, captions or other visual-production guidance.

Assistance is not verification

A tool may help organize a claim, but it does not establish that the claim is accurate. Editorial review is still required.

What editors are expected to evaluate

Human review should go beyond correcting grammar. The editor must decide whether the information is useful, accurate, appropriately framed and suitable for the Vesti.la audience.

Relevance

Does this help the reader?

The material should answer a genuine question about a dish, cuisine, market, restaurant format or local food search.

Accuracy

Can the factual claims be supported?

Important claims should be reviewed against credible and relevant information rather than accepted because they sound plausible.

Context

Are regional differences represented fairly?

The article should avoid presenting one family, restaurant or regional version as the only legitimate form.

Tone

Is the language honest and proportionate?

The final wording should avoid false certainty, unnecessary hype, invented authority and promotional language disguised as editorial analysis.

AI-generated claims are not treated as sources

An AI response may suggest facts, names, places or historical connections, but those suggestions require independent review.

Dish names

Spellings, transliterations and alternate names should be checked against relevant usage and source-language context.

Ingredients and preparation

Claims about defining ingredients, techniques and regional variations should be checked rather than inferred from general patterns.

Origins and history

Claims about invention, ownership, chronology and cultural origin require especially careful sourcing.

Restaurants and markets

Current status, address, menu, pricing and availability should be confirmed through current and relevant sources.

Quotations

Quotes must not be created, reconstructed or attributed to a person who did not provide them.

Statistics and rankings

Numbers, survey results, popularity claims and rankings require identifiable evidence and appropriate context.

See our Fact-Checking Policy for the full verification framework.

What Vesti.la does not permit

AI tools must not be used to create false authority, fictional reporting or misleading claims about food, people, businesses or editorial work.

Invented restaurant visits

Claiming that an author visited a restaurant, market or bakery when no such visit occurred.

Fabricated tastings

Describing a personal taste, texture, atmosphere or service experience that was not genuinely experienced.

Fictional quotations

Creating quotations from chefs, owners, historians, customers, experts or other people.

False credentials

Inventing professional expertise, awards, education, affiliations or personal connections to a cuisine.

Imaginary businesses

Publishing restaurants, markets, addresses, menu items or services that cannot be reasonably verified.

Invented sources

Citing books, studies, articles, organizations or official records that do not exist or do not support the claim.

Undisclosed impersonation

Using AI-generated language to imitate a real person’s statement, endorsement or professional opinion without authorization.

Plausible wording can still be misinformation

A polished paragraph is not reliable simply because it sounds specific, confident or professional.

Research must not be presented as personal experience

Vesti.la distinguishes between an informational guide and firsthand reporting based on a genuine visit, tasting, interview or product test.

Researched guide

Explains a subject through reviewed information

The article may describe common taste, texture, service style and regional context without claiming that the author personally experienced a specific business.

Firsthand report

Based on a real and identifiable experience

A visit, tasting, interview or test may be described when it genuinely occurred and the wording accurately reflects that experience.

Business information

Statements from a business require attribution

Information supplied by a restaurant, brand or partner should not be presented as an independent observation.

Digitally created images must not mislead the reader

Vesti.la may use original photography, licensed images, supplied images, illustrations and digitally generated or enhanced visual content.

Illustrative food images

May be used to represent a general dish, serving style, ingredient comparison or dining concept.

Real businesses and places

An illustrative image should not be presented as a documentary photograph of a specific restaurant, market, chef or location.

Product representation

Images should not invent packaging, labels, certifications or product features that could mislead readers.

Food identity

The image should reasonably match the dish or comparison described and should not merge unrelated foods in a misleading way.

Editing and enhancement

Cropping, lighting adjustments and other enhancements should not materially misrepresent a product, location or food characteristic.

Illustration is different from evidence

A visually realistic image does not prove that a particular dish is served by a specific business or that the pictured preparation was personally photographed.

Food names and cultural terms require more than literal translation

AI-assisted translation may help compare language versions, but dish names, transliterations and culturally specific phrases require contextual review.

Dish names

A name may be preserved, transliterated or accompanied by an English explanation rather than translated literally.

Alternate spellings

Several forms may be legitimate depending on the language, region and transliteration system.

Cultural meaning

A direct translation may lose important information about how a food is understood or used.

Menu language

We aim to include the terms readers are likely to encounter when ordering or searching.

AI use does not remove disclosure obligations

Sponsored content, affiliate relationships, complimentary products and other commercial connections should be disclosed regardless of whether AI-assisted tools were involved in the workflow.

Sponsored projects

Commercial involvement should be identified clearly where readers can reasonably notice it.

Brand claims

Claims supplied by a partner should be reviewed and should not automatically become independent editorial conclusions.

Reviews and endorsements

AI must not be used to fabricate a favorable review, testimonial or product experience.

Editorial control

Payment does not create a right to misleading claims, invented authority or undisclosed promotional language.

See our Advertising and Partnerships Policy and Affiliate Disclosure .

Errors connected to AI-assisted work are corrected like any other error

The use of a tool does not excuse inaccurate publication. If a page contains a supported factual error, misleading image, fabricated detail or missing context, it should be reviewed and corrected appropriately.

Identification

The disputed content is located

The exact sentence, image, caption, source or business detail is identified for review.

Verification

The claim is checked independently

Editors review relevant evidence rather than asking the same tool to confirm its own previous output.

Correction

The page is revised when necessary

Incorrect material may be corrected, clarified, expanded or removed depending on the nature of the problem.

This policy may evolve as tools and editorial practices change

AI technology, publishing standards and reader expectations may change over time. Vesti.la may update this policy to reflect new risks, tools, disclosure practices or editorial procedures.

New tools do not change the central principle

Vesti.la remains responsible for the accuracy, usefulness and integrity of the content it publishes.
